A quiet sanctuary built for nail plate architecture.
UME was founded in Albany, California, with a singular mission: to elevate nail care from a rushed cosmetic service to a highly technical, customized discipline of nail architecture.
We specialize exclusively in waterless dry Russian manicures and soft gel extensions. By omitting water-soaking (which swells the nail plate and forces early chipping), and using electronic files (e-files) for precision cuticle exfoliation, we achieve manicures that regularly last up to four weeks while maintaining natural nail integrity.
Our aesthetic is clean, sophisticated, and tailored. We believe nail design is an extension of personal fashion — minimal chrome base layers, hand-painted lines, and subtle structural offsets.
HYGIENE & STANDARDS
Autoclave Sterilization
All metal implements go through chemical-wash prep followed by high-pressure medical-grade autoclave steam sterilization. Packaged in sealed indicator bags opened only in front of you.
Waterless Exfoliation
Soaking nails in water makes them absorb moisture and expand. Painting on an expanded plate leads to cracking when the nail shrinks back. Our advanced waterless technique preserves dry nail alignment.
Non-Toxic Formulations
We select premium, low-chemical, non-toxic products. Our structured bases, extension builder gels, and color topcoats are free from aggressive toxins and allergens.
